Apple Paris Opera Visit

Over the weekend I found myself in Paris. Although considered the most romantic city in the world (personally, my husband and I don’t see the appeal) I didn’t go climbing the Eiffel Tower, I didn’t go¬†cruising down the Seine nor did I go wandering the Louvre Museum. Instead, I headed to Apple Store – Paris Opera.

Apple Paris Opera isn’t a new Apple store, it opened back in 2010 however, it is Apple’s flagship store in the country. According to Business Insider, Apple generate an astounding 26% profit margin from each of their stores yet this one is a world away from the glass fronted buildings we’ve come to associate with Apple.

Once an old bank, Apple have kept all of the original fittings which were once situated there. There’s the stunning mosaic tile floor, marble columns and beautifully carved wooden staircases with wrought-iron railings. The store is so beautiful it could quite easily distract from the huge array of tech on offer.

I was however on a quest. I’d been trying to get my hands on the 38mm lilac watch strap for the Apple Watch for some time. After scouring the internet and searching many stores in the UK I’d pretty much given up hope of finding one. I headed down the spiral staircase at the back of the store and down into the basement; the home of the accessories. In stock were the lilac watch straps, 3 of them in fact, although they were all the larger 42mm size. I thought I’d try my luck and ask one of the assistants if they had any more in stock and to my utter surprise they had! Sorted.

On my way out of the store, I noticed the amazing bank vault door that is situated at the back of the basement. Splitting off various rooms, it’s a grand feature and in beautiful condition, a must see if you’re ever in Paris!
